I wanted to create a place where you can go, to breathe, slow down, and let go of tension in your everyday life.
Yoga
Calm and gentle yoga, where you have time to breathe and relax in the poses, so your body can let go of tension.
Meditation
Guided meditations to slow down, breathe deeply, pause, and find moments of inner peace.
Nature
When filming outside the earth, the air, and the light become part of the practice. Connecting us to nature.
Shandasti yoga
When I created Shandasti, I wanted a name that honored both the ancient yogic wisdom and the Norwegian landscape that has always grounded me. This name weaves together two Sanskrit roots and one Norwegian word, creating something entirely unique.
Shanti (Peace) because that's what we all seek – not just the absence of stress, but genuine inner calm that stays with us even during life's storms.
Ananda (Bliss) because yoga and meditation aren't about suffering or forcing ourselves into difficult practices. When we find our right path, there's joy in it. The practice itself becomes a source of happiness, not another obligation.
Sti (Path) because I'm Norwegian, I choose to use the word sti. We all have to find our own sti (path) to balance in our lives. Like finding your own route up a mountain or into the forest. Your yoga practice is the same: a personal path only you can walk.
Peace, tranquility, calm
Not just the absence of noise or stress, but a deep, abiding peace that comes from within. The kind of peace that remains steady even when life around you is chaotic. This is the peace you hear at the end of yoga classes: "Om Shanti Shanti Shanti" – peace in body, mind, and spirit.
Bliss, joy, divine happiness
Not fleeting pleasure, but the profound joy that comes from being fully present and connected to your true nature. Ananda is the happiness that doesn't depend on external circumstances – it's the contentment of simply being alive, here, now.
The path you walk, your journey
In Norway, a "sti" is more than just a path – it's the trail through the forest, the route up the mountain, the way you walk through nature. It represents the individual journey each person takes, the unique way forward that only you can walk.
About me
Hello, my name is Christine. I live in Norway. I started my teacher training in yoga, meditation and mindfulness as an investment into my own health. Hoping to find balance in my own everyday life and to priorities myself and create some "me time".
Somewhere along the journey, came the idea of creating this website. I am new to filming, never used a microphone and I'm still working on becoming friends with the camera.
Nature is important to me and a place where I can take a break, breathe, slow down and just be. Filming outside, means I have no control of the environment around me, whether it starts raining, people show up, or a plane passing in the sky. I just have to make the best of it. Just like we have to do in our everyday life. I feel that filming in nature allows the practice to feel real and alive - imperfect and beautifully human.
